Luca

I play and produce music under the name 'Luca', researching & creating music that both embraces my Italian origin & my experience in the UK.

I combine piano, guitar, OP-Z & vocals, creating soulful melodies & harmonies framed by electronic beats & synth.

My work to date includes:

July 2020 - Oct 2021: “Living in Bubbles” a show performed at Coddywomple Bristol with circus artist Truan Jay Mathias and subsequently funded by Arts Council England and Trowbridge Area Board for its development. Devised together in collaboration. Performed in Bristol, Trowbridge and Milan

2016 to 2019 as Hallelugenia:

- self-released 2 EPs & 1 Album

- co-produced & devised 2 music videos

- played over 60 gigs in Bristol and London (The Fleece - Dublin Castle in London - M-Shed - The crofter Rights - Mr.Wolfs - The Stag and Hounds - Glitch - Milk Bar - The Thunderbolt - The Red Lion - Green Gathering Festival in Chepstow)

- toured across Italy

2011 to 2014 as Malgrado Urbano:

- released 2 EPs

- co-produced & devised 1 music video

- played gigs in Milan & north of Italy

2007: Diploma in Jazz Singing at the prestigious “Scuola Civica di Jazz di Milano” - performing more than 100 gigs in Italy and abroad with the Choir of the school between 2003 and 2007

July to December 2021: I obtained a Creative Freelance Grant from WECA to work on my electronic production skills, become an Ableton Live certified trainer and produce 40 minutes of commercial music

Mar 2021: 2 days improvising & creating with physical theatre artist Chloe Mantripp on her solo show ‘Cockroach’ (Later funded by ACE)

Nov-Dec 2020: wrote, arranged, recorded & produced music for:

- the documentary "Cap20100" about Self-organised Football

- 7 pieces of music for 7 performances for the event “Giralamoda” commisioned by "Tramaplaza" as part of a Sustainable Fashion Festival in Milan

2010: I obtained the MLT Diploma to teach children 0-5 years old
